Ten Million Eyeballs

Forbes Magazine Celebrity 100
by John Kremer

In a special issue every year, Forbes magazine ranks the relative star power of actors, athletes, singers, authors, and talking heads. Below are a few authors among the Celebrity 100 (those in bold are authors only, not famous for other activities).

The rankings at the left are for 2010 (2007 and 2008 rankings are also noted, where known). The dollar amount features only the income generated from entertainment activities (books, movies, TV, radio, etc.).

Note that all of the author-only listees are novelists who derive some of their income from movie rights and other subsidiary rights.

In 2007 and 2008, 5 chefs were listed. None were featured in the Celebrity 100 in 2010.

Some of the other people listed below rely heavily on their author earnings for their current income, including Bill Clinton, Rudy Giuliani, Jack Welch, and Emeril Lagasse.

Don't limit your vision of possibilities. Aim to be on this list next year or the year after. If they can do it, so can you.
