John Kremer's Recommended Resources for Creating Books and Products to Sell

Here are resources to help you do almost anything you would want to do to market your books as an author or publisher. These resources are provided by me, by other good companies and individuals, or by websites.

Alive! eBooks Network — Wow, I just discovered this program and it is beautiful and enticing. It allows you to create and sell multimedia ebooks that feature text, audio, and video. They've already featured Dan Millman, Marc Allen, Carolyn Ellis, and others. You provide text, audio recordings, optional photos and other graphics, video (if you have some) and then they do the heavy lifting of creating the multimedia ebook plus the non-glamorous technical stuff for ebook security, hosting, and integration into your shopping cart. Cost: $2500 plus a cover design. Their covers are gorgeous and the books are involving, which means that your customer not only gets to read you but also hear and see you. Blog to Book Project: How to Use a Blog to Create a Book in 90 Days or Less — This self-paced self-study program was created by The Blog Squad to help you get a book written fast and start marketing it as you write it. Provides all the ins and outs about blogging, including key tips to publishing an effective blog. Also includes promotion of your blog to The Blog Squad network. Cost: $297. You can, of course, also sign up for their ProBlogger program that includes their help in setting up a blog and making it work. That costs a lot more, but if you need hand holding to get it done, they can help.

Info Products Seminar — If you've been slow on creating new products, let Fred Gleeck, the product guru, show how you to create multiple products to sell via a funnel system to anyone — not only how to create such products, but also how to market and deliver them. Fred is one smart fellow.

Master Quiz — Something like the Master Survey program listed below, but this allows you to do some interactive and puzzle quizzes that you cannot do with Master Survey. Includes everything that Master Survey as plus the interactive features. You can create new quizzes in just a few minutes and put it up on your website right away. Get feedback in hours or days on what works and what doesn't. You can even use quizzes to help write your book by creating content, asking for stories, and getting feedback. Cost: $99.

Master Survey — Find out what your customers want by asking them. Then create the products they want to buy. When you ask your website visitors what they want, you open the door to more sales, happier customers, and a stronger site. You can now interact with your customers via surveys. You can customize the questions you ask, the look and feel of your survey, and how the results are reported (direct to you only or to anyone who visits your website). This is really cool stuff. All for only a one-time fee of $39.

Ten Free Ebooks — Click on this link and you'll get to download 10 free ebooks that you can resell. This is a great way to get started selling products while you are waiting to build up your own exclusive content via your book, ebook, or other product. The free books include: 8,605 Words and Phrases That Sell, Inside the Minds of Winners, eBay Cash!, Building a Virtual Corporation, etc. Free.

The Ultimate Book Cover Makeover Clinic — Before creating a bestseller, you have to do two things: 1) Write a good book, and 2) Design a pick-up-able book, with a great title, back cover sales copy, and pull-the-customer-in cover design. The Cover That Book double-CD learning system by Susan Kendrick features complete, start-to-finish writing and design steps, strategies, and tips to turn your expertise into award-winning, income-producing books and info products. Write Your eBook Or Other Short Book Fast — This ebook by Judy Cullins shows you how to write a book fast with minimal effort. Cost: $24.95.

Teleseminars and Webinars

InstantTeleseminar.com — This service allows you to create and host unlimited teleseminars (limited only by your time!). As many as 300 people can listen in via the phone while another 2,000 can listen in via the web. Anytime, day or night. Whenever you set up a teleseminar. You can also host and record interviews with anyone using this service. All recordings are hosted indefinitely with the service or can be downloaded so you can sell them as mp3s or audio CDs. All this for only $47 per month. I really don't know how they do it for that low price, but I'm not complaining.

Using Teleseminars to Create and Market Books — This teleseminar by John Kremer shows you how to use teleseminars to create new content, write new books, build important relationships, promote your books, and sell more books. Their promotional secrets are incredible. They really know how to sell webinars, step-by-step. Cost: $1,997 and worth every penny.

Audio Acrobat — You can use this wonderful service to generate podcasts, Internet radio shows, and other audio content by just making a phone call, recording your talk, and hitting send to syndicate your audio podcast to 27 podcast directories like iTunes. You can also create and send audio or video emails, post audio or video to your website with neat players, and so much more, all for only $19.95 a month. That's an incredible bargain. Internet Infomercial Toolkit — If you want to learn how to create videos (both as infomercials for your website but as well as for YouTube and other video-sharing websites), you need this toolkit created by Michael Koenigs and Rocket Helstrom. It shows you how to shoot, edit, and launch your Internet videos. Also shows you how to put the resulting video on your website as well so people can see and hear you. Cost: $997.

New Video Pro

New Video Pro — If you can take a picture, then you have what it takes to stream video off of your website or blog in under 57 seconds. Add sticky and selling videos to your website without losing visitors to YouTube or another video-sharing service. Plus, you don't have to convert your video to Flash before posting it to your site; the service does it for you, quick and easy. Cost: $49.95, but take advantage of the $1 30-day trial (that's almost free!).

Spotlight Branding — This is a searchable online database featuring industry contacts for film, television and gaming to be used for product placement and branded entertainment opportunities. Nobody in the book world knows the power of product placement better than Matt Damon’s childhood neighbor. A single mention of his friend’s history book in Good Will Hunting has kept that book a consistent seller since the movie debuted. Cost: $549.

VideoTrafficGuys.com — If you want to get more traffic to your website and/or get top ten rankings in Google searches for your keywords, this program not only shows you how to do it, but they also make it very easy to do. These guys make it easy to use video to drive traffic. A fantastic resource. Plus, the cost of joining includes some wonderful resources for creating and posting videos. Very well explained and easy to use. It got my juices flowing really fast. Cost: From $47 to $147 per month.

But this system offers something that should knock your book sales right out the window and into the stratosphere and beyond. Very soon, it might do even more than that, if I have anything to say about it.

Membership Websites

Membership Site Bootcamp — If you want to create a membership site as a way of delivering content to your website visitors, you need to take this complete course on how to run a profitable membership website. I have taken this bootcamp created by Ryan Lee and Tim Kerber, and it is superb. I will be using the information here to begin several membership sites in the coming months. Membership sites are a great way to deliver paid email newsletters that get delivered, provide coaching services, do a paid teleseminar series, etc. Well worth the price of admission. MemberSpeed — Membership site software or hosting solutions that provides you incredible flexibility in designing and managing a membership site, including autoresponders, audio/video streaming, affiliate management, and much more. With the hosting solution, they do much of the work for you. If you pay the one-time fee, you'll have to do much of the technical downloading and setting up the behind-the-scenes stuff. Starts at $57/month on up to a one-time fee of up to several thousand dollars.


Become a Recognized Authority, Expert, or Speaker

Article Marketer: http://www.articlemarketer.com — $49.99 per quarter to syndicate your articles. Or a lifetime subscription for $400. Your free submission goes to 12,988 publishers on 30 sites. Paid distribution goes to almost 68,000 publishers on 3,886 sites.

Become an Instant Guru — In this 6-audio CD program, Bob Bly shares proven, pragmatic methods you can use to quickly and easily become the recognized authority in your field in as little as 90 days. You can master the art of being a guru in about a week of listening in your car. Cost: $97. Includes two free $29 reports: How to Write a Book and Get It Published and How to Do Your Own Public Relations.

College Speaking Success Boot Camp — If you want to speak at colleges, James Malinchak is the man to talk to. His boot camp will teach you everything you need to know to become a paid speaker on college campuses around the country (and earn from $100,000 to $1 million per year doing so). College campuses are a great place to promote many kinds of books. For a free report on 10 Deadly Speaker Marketing Mistakes, click on the title. Note: His next boot camp is May 1 to 4, 2008, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Master Syndicator Gateway

Master Syndication Gateway — Now your articles can appear on other websites. With one simple line of code, other websites can display your articles on their sites. And, if they are your affiliates, the articles can also include their affiliate code so they get paid anytime someone buys your book or other product via the article displayed on their website. You can control how often the article changes since you are in full control of the syndication of articles. Publish a new article once a week or once a month, and the article will automatically appear on all your partner websites. Really easy for you to implement and also really easy for your partner websites to implement. $197. You can buy a lesser version of this Master Syndicator for $97, but it doesn't give you as much control.

Millionaire Licensing Club — Copywriting legend Bob Serling and Internet marketer Mike Long teach you their TollGate method for selling products even when you don't have a website. Background: Create licensing deals with people who have product and connect them with people who have lists, members, website visitors, etc. Now, as an author, you might not want to broker other people's deals, but you certainly would want to know how to go about getting other people involved in selling your book, courses, etc. This course teaches you how to do that.

PR Leads Expert Resource Network — This service provides you with the names and contact info of reporters and editors who are looking for experts and other people to interview for stories, news, etc. You can do a one-month trial for only $99, or a year for $995. I know people who have gotten into major newspapers and magazines using the hot leads this service provides. It's a lot less expensive than hiring a PR service or publicist and probably as effective.

Speak on Cruise Ships: 8 Easy Steps to a Lifetime of Free Luxury Cruises — If you would like to travel to exotic destinations at no cost (with your spouse!) and sell some books at the same time, you should check out this information program by Daniel Hall. He provides the inside scoop on how to contact cruise ship lines, which lines are interested in what topics, and how to book speaking engagements for any trip you want to make via cruise ship. We're talking Love Boat experiences galore :)) Cost: Just $97. Neat.
