blogging for authors: another example
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The following is a notice from publicist Kathryn Hall, commenting on a notice in last week's issue:
I'm actually doing something akin, but slightly different. I just launched the blog http://www.plantwhateverbringsyoujoy.com, the title of the book I have written, but not yet published. I won't use any material from the book (which lends itself to later excerption), but am establishing a wide, new audience for a voice not usually associated with me, given that my primary focus has been promoting others' books for the last 27 years! I'm beyond thrilled with the entire blog process and I highly recommend it as a path. I have transcended all kinds of techno barriers and have entered a world that I love, where I belong!
The Debutante Ball group blog
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Four debut novelists have gotten together to blog as a group at The Debutante Ball: http://www.thedebutanteball.com. Now they are also inviting famous authors to blog there as well (and, of course, bring the blog incredible traffic. On Tuesday, September 25th, John Grisham will be a guest blogger to promote his new novel, Playing for Pizza. In November Meg Cabot will blog to promote her Heather Wells mystery series. Fantastic promotion! The four debut novelist bloggers are:

Eileen Cook, author of Unpredictable
Lisa Daily, author of Fifteen Minutes of Shame
Jenny Gardiner, author of Sleeping with Ward Cleaver
Danielle Younge-Ullman, author of Falling Under

They are joined on the blog by Gail Konop Baker, a first-time memoirist of Cancer Is a Bitch.
