Top 700 Independent Bookstores
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We've just completed a major update of the Top 700 Independent Bookstores data
files. You can order a new copy at
http://www.bookmarket.com/orderform.htm.
The cost is only $40.00 for a fast and easy download.
Note that the Top 700 Independent Bookstores list features 790 general
independent bookstores. That means they are interested in books on almost any
subject.
I also sell a list of more than 1900 specialty retailers (bookstores, museum
stores, gift shops, etc.) that are focused on special interests (children,
history, cooking, travel, gay/lesbian, art, mind/body/spirit, etc.). That list
is also downloadable, and for only $30. Again, order at
http://www.bookmarket.com/orderform.htm.
Reverse Shoplifting: TV Reports on One Author's Experience
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Watch several TV reports on Steven Cohn's experiences with reverse
shoplifting: http://www.WriteItForMe.com/LifeTextOnTV.html.
Here's another website that features six useful articles on how to build
a great website: http://www.bestwebsite.com/FreeArticles. This site
is looking for more bloggers and websites that would like to post and
share any of the six articles at this site (and more to come).
Free Q&A with John Kremer -- Hop on the Doppelit Train!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My friends at Doppelit.com have asked me to come back. I always love
being invited back to great places. Last month we ran out of time during
my interview and I couldn't answer all the questions. So I'll be Aboard
the Doppelit Train on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. Pacific or
9:00 p.m. Eastern. For details, see: http://www.doppelit.com/johnkremer.
If you have questions you want to ask me during this free session, send
an email to: AskJohn@Doppelit.com.
“Doppelit” means nobleness of expression, or to make spectacular. The
folks at Doppelit.com are dedicated to enlivening the entrepreneur in
each of us. Check them out. Note: I'm the conductor for The Doppelit
Train, so you know it will be good.
Don't miss The Doppelit Train interview with John Kremer this Thursday,
January 3rd. Time: 6:00 p.m. Pacific, 9:00 p.m. Eastern. For details,
Imbibe magazine
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Imbibe is bimonthly magazine on beer, wine, spirits, and other drinks.
Their November 2007 issue featured the following gifts worth drinking
to: Jeff Berry's Sippin' Safari and Ted Haigh's Vintage Spirits & Forgotten Cocktails.
Send information to the editors at Imbibe, 1028 SE Water Avenue
#285, Portland OR 97214; 503-595-0144; Fax: 503-595-0122. Email:

The Insider's Guide to Eating Out (11/07).
Pulse Interview Merchandising
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pulse Media allows authors who are being interviewed via radio or TV to
refer people to a text message number rather than a website to catch
mobile users. E.g.: For more information or to purchase, text TITLE (or
AUTHOR NAME) to 78573. Mobile users who text such a message get a
response that allows them to purchase the book or save for later. By
using different text keywords, you can measure which interviews are
producing results.
The response to a consumer's text request might read:
Thank you for inquiring about TITLE. To receive a call to purchase now,
reply CALL; to buy online, go to http://pulse.mobi/title; to receive more
info, reply with your email address.
For more information about this service, contact Robert Flynn at Pulse
Media via phone: 860-293-8727 or email: flynnr@sendapulse.com. Or
text MORE INFO to 78573. Web: http://www.sendapulse.com.
Remarkable Rights Clause
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I like the rights clause that Ernie Zelinski has written for the ebook he's
giving away that features lots of quotations about retirement. Check
it out at The 437 Best Things Ever Said About Retirement:
“Shockingly enough, you have permission to post, e-mail, and give away
this E-book (a $9.97 value) as an inspirational gift to anyone you like --
as long as you make no changes to its contents or format. Alas, the
right to use material from this valuable E-book in other forms is
prohibited. You can have the movie rights, however -- provided that
you share half of the profits with Ernie Zelinski and give him a starring
role along with Nicole Kidman.”
He wrote a similar rights clause for another of his free ebooks, 1001
Best Things Ever Said About Work (and the Workplace), except he
asked for a role with Sharon Stone. He certainly has good taste.
Ernie, author of How to Retire Happy, Wild, and Free, is a wonderful and
creative book marketer. I love following his work.
